Claude Tétot

Claude Tétot, with the support of collectors, has published a monograph with unpublished texts by Raphael Rubinstein, Joe Fyfe, Eric Suchère and Pierre Wat.

"Some mornings, Claude Tétot sits in the old leather armchair in the middle of his studio, four or five metres from the wall against which he has placed a large white canvas, and he begins to paint. Not that he projects the slightest colour onto the canvas in this distance - in fact he has neither colours nor brushes in his hands, nor any of the instruments that will be used to attack his canvas in a day or two. He doesn't move, he doesn't touch anything, yet the work has begun, the real work, the work of which the painting will soon be the result. The painter speaks of this mental, meditative practice as a form of "internal visualization": "I spend a lot of time looking at what I am going to do: looking at it mentally.
